3D2N Danum Valley Expedition with INFAPRO Conservation Stay

Overview of Location

Uncover the magic of Borneo’s ancient rainforest with this 3D2N Danum Valley-INFAPRO package, an immersive short getaway designed for wildlife lovers, nature photographers, and conservation-minded travellers. Your journey begins with a scenic drive to INFAPRO, a reforestation project and eco-base located within the Ulu Segama Forest Reserve, just outside the Danum Valley Conservation Area. With larger rooms and 24-hour electricity, INFAPRO offers a quieter, more comfortable alternative to DVFC’s basic facilities – perfect for those seeking a mid-range option between field station and luxury lodge.

During your stay, venture into the 130-million-year-old Danum Valley rainforest on daily 4x4 safari drives and guided treks, led by expert naturalists. Thanks to a natural wildlife corridor between INFAPRO and DVFC, your chances of spotting rare and nocturnal species – including orangutans, hornbills, and civets – are even higher. End your expedition with a sunrise drive to Bukit Atur, where panoramic views stretch over mist-draped canopy. With meaningful conservation impact, expert guidance, and access to one of Southeast Asia’s richest ecosystems, this compact itinerary delivers an unforgettable rainforest experience.

LOCATION / HOW TO GET HERE

Just 11 kilometres from Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC), INFAPRO offers a quieter, more spacious alternative to staying inside the main research hub. Originally established as a reforestation project, this site now doubles as a comfortable base for exploring one of Borneo’s most iconic rainforests. With larger rooms, ensuite bathrooms, and 24-hour electricity, INFAPRO caters to travellers seeking a more relaxed, mid-range experience without compromising access to Danum Valley’s incredible biodiversity.

While accommodation is based at INFAPRO, most guided activities take place inside DVFC. Trek along established jungle trails, where rare bird species, orangutans, and towering dipterocarp trees await at every turn. After dark, the roads around INFAPRO become a hotspot for nocturnal wildlife. Night drives may reveal secretive species like marbled cats, flat-headed cats, leopard cats, and even the elusive Bornean clouded leopard, along with sightings of Western tarsiers, slow lorises, and binturongs.

INFAPRO features two resthouse options that include attached bathrooms with hot showers. Meals are served buffet-style at the nearby dining hall, with special dietary needs accommodated upon request. Whether you’re here for photography, wildlife, or simply to slow down in nature, INFAPRO delivers a rewarding Danum experience with space to breathe.
